The Department of Health award grants to the Local Authorities for the purpose of establishing workforce planning processes and the training and development of the social care workforce. In Warwickshire we have been fortunate to have access to these on behalf of the organisations in the independent sector who have, or may potentially be working towards, service delivery contracts with Warwickshire County Council. The Workforce Development Service (WDS), based in Warwickshire County Council’s Adult, Health & Community Services Directorate, commission a range of training and development opportunities for their social care staff. For the last three years, the Warwickshire Quality Partnership ( WQP) team and Board have worked in partnership with WDS, and encouraged them to commission similar training & development opportunities, on their behalf, based on the Training Needs Analysis previously circulated by WQP. Details of programmes, including flyers and application forms, are often circulated with the WQP newsletter. They are also accessible via the internet by visiting: Click here to open external link to WCC "Workforce Development Database" All programmes can be selected either by title, closing date or specialism. To find out if your organisation is a member of WQP and is therefore currently entitled to free places on these courses, then please contact the WQP office on 01926 745117 |
